Palliative Care

When faced with a condition that requires palliative care as there will be no recovery, or at the end of life, it is important that people have choice and control over where they wish to spend the last years, months or days.

It is not always necessary to move away from home to receive care. Willowbrook staff are available to offer the support needed during these emotional times.

Our staff receive training in Palliative Care. Willowbrook staff offer specialist palliative care in:

  • Personal care
  • Emotional support
  • Toileting
  • Hoisting patients
  • Stoma care
  • Catheter care
  • Epilepsy

We can also carry out the day to day tasks such as shopping, bed making and laundry. Your local authority Adult Social Care Team's can provide a range of services and equipment to help you remain at home as you approach the end of life and Willowbrook can assist you with this. The equipment and services could include home adaptations such as hand rails.

Support For Families

We understand how important it is for carers and loved ones to be able to spend as much precious time as possible with the person who is nearing the end of life. For those who are in the caring role but have their own health issues this can be a particularly difficult time. Willowbrook will take your needs and wishes into account every step of the way and will do all we can to offer the support that is needed. We can be there to help by relieving the burden of those day to day household tasks that still need to be carried out. Carers have a legal right to a social care assessment so that the appropriate services can be put in place. Willowbrook staff are able to make this referral for carers so that they have access to the range of information and support that is available.
