At Willowbrook Homecare, we’re always looking for innovative ways to ensure the people we care for are supported with the highest safety standards, compassion and professionalism. That’s why we were delighted to welcome representatives from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service to our Lytham Homecare offices last week, for a dedicated training session tailored specifically for healthcare professionals working in the community.

Led by experienced fire service officers, the interactive session provided our team with essential knowledge about fire prevention, home safety, and the innovative services the fire service now offers that can directly benefit the people we support.

Our care team explored real-life scenarios through information-sharing and group activities, developed practical safety solutions, and enhanced our understanding of how to collaborate closely with local emergency services to protect vulnerable individuals in their homes.

One of the key highlights of the training was learning about new technologies and home safety tools, from specialist alarms to targeted risk assessments that can help us further protect the wellbeing of the people we support.

This session is part of our ongoing commitment to ensure all members of our care team are not only highly trained but also regularly upskilled to meet evolving needs in the community. At Willowbrook Homecare, we believe that keeping our care professionals informed, confident, and empowered directly contributes to keeping your loved ones safe, independent, and well at home.

Willowbrook would like to extend a huge thank you to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service for their time, expertise, and continued partnership in helping us deliver safe, responsive and person-centred care across Lytham and the wider Lancashire area.
