Direct Payments

It is a way of people having control over how the money available for their care is spent.

The concept is that you can tailor care and support to your requirements, preferences and aims with appropriate help; within a framework agreed with your local authority and recorded in your care and support plan.

Personal budgets are an agreed amount of council money paid to a client following an assessment of need. The client will then arrange and pay for their own care services. The budget is received as a Direct Payment and all spending must be auditable by the council to show that it has been spent on services that meet the assessed need.

Willowbrook is experienced in providing a “provider pathway” to help clients navigate and choose the right care on which to spend their personal budgets. We are able to manage and look after your personal budget and will produce fully auditable accounts at no charge to the client or council where Willowbrook deliver the care and support.

How It Works

Typically councils will provide clients with a ‘pre-paid’ credit card which has the client’s budget loaded on each month. The client or a friend or family member will pay the care provider using the ‘pre-paid’ card.

Willowbrook Services

Willowbrook will provide an invoice every four weeks to the client or their family for the care received within those 4 weeks. At Willowbrook, we understand that some clients don’t want or are not capable of making the payment from the ‘pre-paid’ card, and so rely on someone else to make the payment.

We offer an online payment facility to provide a 24 hours a day, 7 days week option. For those that do not have internet, we also offer a friendly voice during the day who will take the payment over the phone.

To make a payment over the phone call the Willowbrook Finance Department on 01254 390347
