This week the Willowbrook Spotlight is on Jessica
*Tell us about your career path.
I currently work part-time at Willowbrook whilst studying. I previously worked in dentistry for nine years, where I was very much involved with the recruitment process. I also gained two years of experience as a mental health and learning disability support worker. I undertook this role alongside my full-time job before I left on maternity leave to have my daughter.
*How do you achieve satisfaction?
I feel fulfilled knowing that I can help find flexible working hours for applicants who may be in the same position as myself. Part-time and/or single mothers currently studying and wanting to reduce their hours or maybe wanting to work around their day-to-day lives. Also, those who would like to return to full-time hours or are possibly looking to change career directions altogether.
*How will you achieve success in your role?
My career goal at Willowbrook is to find outstanding new carers to join our established and extraordinary team, my long-term personal goal is to return to dentistry after I complete my university studies.
*What do you love most about what you do?
I am passionate about the care industry! Honestly, I have the utmost respect for carers, the exceptional level of care they deliver daily, and the difference they make to a client’s life. All this whilst dealing with perpetual stress and the limitations the care industry faces in our current care crisis – It’s inspiring!
I’m grateful to Willowbrook Homecare for bringing me on board and supporting me in achieving my future career goals.
*Update: Jessica, has now moved on from her role as Recruitment Officer and we wish her every success in her future career.
