At Willowbrook Homecare, we strive to provide compassionate, person-centred care. It is always a privilege to form meaningful connections with the people we support and their families.
We would like to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for the beautiful gesture we received from the family of David, a gentleman we had the honour of caring for at Albion Mill, Blackburn.
David’s family shared their appreciation with a thoughtful card and a lovely assortment of biscuits and chocolates for our Extra Care Team. This kind gesture deeply touched us, especially as we fondly remember David, who only recently passed away. The family’s message reminded us why we do what we do, and we are humbled by their kind words.
One message that stood out reads: “Thank you to all the staff who checked on my Grandad daily. Sometimes, all he needed was a quick chat about the Royal Air Force or his Martial Arts, and a kind ear to listen to him. Thank you for being that listening ear.” At Willowbrook, we believe that small moments—like being a listening ear—can make a world of difference.
David’s family also expressed how much comfort they felt knowing he was happy at Albion Mill. They shared: “I know how much he thought of you all. He was settled in his new home and made new friends. He was happy, which gave us great comfort—thank you.” They added: “Thank you for looking after Grandad and to the residents who became new friends. We will miss visiting him at Albion Mill.”
Willowbrook Homecare extends our sincere thanks to David’s family for their kind words and for entrusting us with his care. To each member of our Extra Care team who supported David, your dedication, warmth, and compassion are reflected in these words. You made a lasting impact, not just on David’s life but also on the lives of his loved ones. This thoughtful gift reminds us of the strong bonds we form with the people we support and their families.
