This week, Julie, one of the amazing individuals we support, enjoyed an afternoon out with our Lytham carer, also named Julie.
They drove to Poulton to visit the local Booths. Whilst at the in-store café, they discovered a brilliant gardening initiative that offers free used coffee grounds to help enrich garden soil and compost.
This thoughtful program reduces waste while providing gardeners with a natural boost for their compost heaps, gardens, or window boxes.
With their shared love of gardening, they decided to split the coffee grounds between them. When they returned home, Julie’s husband was thrilled and ready to spread them around their snowdrops, while Julie saved hers for her soon-to-bloom daffodils and tulips.
It was a lovely afternoon, filled with smiles, companionship, coffee, and a bit of gardening inspiration as they looked forward to spring together.
