Willowbrook Homecare is proud to donate £1,000 to support an inspiring fundraising challenge in aid of Springhill Hospice, a cause that holds deep meaning for many of our employees and the wider community.
In April 2026, Alex and James will take on the London Marathon in honour of Alex’s dad, Darren, whose final days were spent under the compassionate care of Springhill Hospice. Their Project 240 challenge, however, goes far beyond the marathon itself.
In an extraordinary show of dedication, they will run from Rochdale to London before completing the London Marathon, covering approximately 240 miles in total, in six days. Every mile is a tribute to Darren’s memory and a heartfelt way of giving back to the hospice that supported him and his family at such an important time.
For many within the Willowbrook team, this story resonates deeply and is close to our hearts. We understand the profound difference that compassionate, person-centred end-of-life care makes to individuals and their loved ones.
Springhill Hospice provides dignity, comfort and specialist support not only to those receiving care, but also to the families around them. The impact of that support continues long after care has been given.
Supporting this cause reflects our shared values of kindness, respect, dignity and compassion. We are honoured to stand alongside Alex and James as they channel personal loss into something meaningful that will help others in our community.
Alex and James, your courage and commitment are truly inspiring. From everyone at Willowbrook Homecare, we wish you every success and will be cheering you on every step of the way.
