At Willowbrook, we are proud to celebrate the dedicated Employees who make a real difference to the lives of the people we support. This month, we are shining the spotlight on Lorraine, Care Supervisor at our Lytham branch.
*How long have you been in the Care Sector/with Willowbrook Homecare?
I have worked in the care sector for over 40 years, supporting individuals across mental health, learning disabilities and elderly care services. I joined Willowbrook in April 2025 and have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the individuals we support in my role as Care Supervisor.
*What attracted you to the Care Sector/Willowbrook?
After leaving school, I completed a Youth Training Scheme placement in a care home with Lancashire County Council. I absolutely loved it and never looked back, gradually progressing in my career over the years. I chose to join Willowbrook because the company shares the same values and ethos of care that I strive to deliver every day – person-centred, compassionate and respectful support that truly puts people first.
*What qualifications have you achieved or worked towards to date?
I hold a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and a Level 5 in Leadership and Management. I am also trained in Moving and Handling and have completed a nail cutting course to support the wellbeing and dignity of the individuals in our care.
*Would you like to study for further qualifications or training?
Yes, I would like to complete further palliative care training to continue developing my knowledge and skills.
*Where do you see yourself in five years?
I envision advancing my career at Willowbrook, enhancing my role, and continuing to provide high-quality care and support to those we serve.
*How do you achieve satisfaction or success in your role?
I feel a real sense of satisfaction in delivering good quality care and ensuring the individuals we support feel valued, safe, and comfortable in their own homes.
*What is the best advice you have ever received or would like to give?
Always treat everyone with kindness and respect, and never ask someone to do something you wouldn’t do yourself.
*What do you love or enjoy the most about what you do?
I love providing high-quality care and seeing the positive difference it makes. Knowing that I help people live comfortably and maintain their independence at home is incredibly rewarding.
*Tell us a surprising or fun fact about you.
I enjoy going to the cinema, travelling and meeting new people. I have travelled to Florida 12 times and love making new friends wherever I go!
Thank you, Lorraine, for your dedication, experience, and continued commitment to delivering compassionate, person-centred care across Lytham. We are delighted to have you as part of the Willowbrook team.
