Last week, our Hyndburn care team was excited to welcome Sharon and her care support worker, Libby, to our Union Road office. The visit was uplifting, filled with smiles, encouragement, and a wonderful sense of accomplishment.
Sharon is one of the remarkable ladies we support and care for at Willowbrook Homecare. While she usually prefers the comfort of her home, she has recently begun to take positive steps toward socialising and reconnecting more with the local community. This progress is thanks to the gentle encouragement and consistent support of our dedicated care team.
Over the past few weeks, Sharon has achieved some important and inspiring milestones. She’s been shopping for new clothes, boosting her confidence and self-esteem, and most recently, enjoyed her first trip to the hairdresser in quite some time.
After her hair appointment, Sharon and Libby enjoyed refreshments and a relaxing stroll around Oswaldtwistle Mills, making the most of the fresh air and friendly atmosphere. When Sharon arrived at our Union Road office, she was beaming with pride and joy, excited to share her new look and radiating confidence. Her happiness was truly infectious, illustrating how person-centred care can help individuals rediscover joy in everyday moments.
With trust, compassionate support, and encouragement, individuals can regain confidence, reconnect with their community, and rediscover the simple pleasures of life, whether it’s a new haircut, a new outfit, or a meaningful day out with someone who genuinely cares.
